Production Process

Listed below  is a step by step production guide as to what is involved in preparing a piece of furniture before it is shipped to you the customer. Hopefully after this illustrated tour you will have a better understanding of what is involved in obtaining the best possible quality available.

Pre - Finished

All of our furniture is thoroughly submerged in a specially formulated anti-insect solution before going into processing. This is a vital necessity as any natural timber is susceptible to insects.

Twice Oven Dried

Firstly all of our timber is oven dried when in plank form. After a piece is completed it then goes into another oven to test joint strength and glue strength.

Carpentary

Furniture that has come out of the oven is checked and re checked before going into the sanding bay.

Refinement

Stringent quality control procedures are involved when refining a piece of furniture. One of the keys to a superior looking finish is in the refined sanding process and it makes all the difference.

Base Colour

The base colour if brushed on so every nook and cranny is properly coated.

2 Pac Sanding Sealer

Sanding sealer is sprayed with a 2 Pac hardener for an extra strong finish.

Cutting Back

The Cutting back process is necessary to even out and smooth the sanding sealer finish.

Colour Toning

After the furniture is cut back a special colour is then applied and toned in evenly. This is an extremely difficult process which requires 100%
concentration and plenty of experience.

Finishing Top Coat

All MultiElites furniture is finished in a high quality nitro cellulose lacquer or melamine lacquer depending on the particular order.

The Drying Room

This is a necessary process that prevents blooming in the furniture’s finish.

Fitting Out

This can be a tedious process that demands the utmost patients, the slightest error requires a total strip down and re-spray.

Upholstary

MultiElite has a team of onsite upholsters providing a professional quality service at all times. You can choose from a range of factory
fabrics or have your own fabric applied. All chairs are sprang loaded and sofa’s are buttoned backed.

Packing

Packing of the furniture is as much an important part of the production as any other process. There is no point going to all the trouble of the
perfect finish and then having it damaged in transport. We have a total of five different protective packing layers for each piece of furniture.

Loading

Last but not least is the organizing of the furniture that is to be packed into the container, a procedure which must be taken seriously. The loading
dock supervisor is extremely experienced with 100’s of containers under his belt.
